It’s a life well lived for UltraFloor at award-winning retirement home

Residents at the McCarthy Stone Studley Retirement Living development are enjoying beautiful new facilities thanks to a 3,000sqm subfloor preparation project completed by Tricas Flooring using UltraFloor Level IT Two.

Background

McCarthy Stone have built a reputation for providing residents with light, spacious and energy efficient apartments and bungalows, all thoughtfully designed to assist residents as they grow older.

The award-winning retirement properties are known for their exceptional standards of quality, design, and vibrant and lively communities.

The Challenge

To further enhance the facilities available to residents, 3,000sqm of communal space at the Studley Retirement Living development have recently undergone a transformation.

The Solution

UltraFloor and Tricas Flooring have partnered regularly on several projects, including a care home in Kensington and the world-famous Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park in Chelmsford, with UltraFloor products delivering complete confident and assurance every time.

Familiar with the outstanding performance of Level IT Two, Tricas Flooring were confident they would get the job done with ease and deliver the results needed on time.

To begin, the team applied UltraFloor Prime IT Multi-surface Primer to the anhydrite substrate before Level IT Two was trowel applied to a 3mm depth.

Formulated to promote the adhesion to all UltraFloor smoothing underlayments, Prime IT Multi-surface Primer reduces pinholing, minimising the risk of costly failures. With a coverage rate of 200sqm at 3:1 dilution, Prime IT Multi-surface Primer is a must-have product for all flooring installation projects.

There are many reasons why Level IT Two has become UltraFloor’s most popular floor leveller. Its exceptional flow characteristics make it a very easy material to apply to a variety of subfloors in both commercial and domestic flooring projects. Its low odour formulation means this fantastic all-rounder leveller is equally suited to confined areas, proving particularly popular in the education, health and hospitality sectors.

With a set time of 2.5 hours, Level IT Two can receive bonded floor coverings after just 8 hours, making it an ideal choice for projects with a tight deadline. What’s more, because Level IT Two is available as a two component system, it takes the guesswork out of mixing, reducing site errors and guaranteeing a perfect application every time.

In no time at all, the Tricas Flooring team could fix the LVT and carpet floorcoverings across the 3,000sqm area.

Results

The project took 8 weeks to complete and was delivered on time with residents now enjoying the beautiful new communal areas of this award-winning retirement community. On using Level IT Two, Alex Page, Senior Contracts Manager at Tricas Flooring, commented: “Level IT Two was exceptional.”
