UltraFloor scores a century at Old Trafford Cricket Ground

Branagan Flooring Services Ltd, have used UltraFloor at the prestigious Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

UltraFloor customer, Branagan Flooring Services Ltd, have completed subfloor preparation at the prestigious Old Trafford Cricket Ground – home to the Lancashire County Cricket Club.

With a stadium capacity of 26,000, Old Trafford Cricket Ground is one of the largest cricket venues in the UK and has played host to international matches since 1884.

Lancashire County Cricket Club – one of 18 first class county clubs within England and Wales –  had their first match at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in 1864 and have been playing there ever since.

The current flooring in the Home and Away balconies had failed and needed to be replaced. With fixtures scheduled months in advance, it was crucial that the new flooring was installed in between games to eliminate any disruption to the thousands of spectators.

In light of this, CFA member and commercial flooring specialists, Branagan Flooring Services Ltd, had just 6 days to complete the 80sqm flooring project.

With such a small window of time to complete the project, Branagan Flooring Services Ltd needed confidence that their chosen subfloor preparation materials would perform without any issues. With this in mind, they selected UltraFloor’s Level IT Bond and DPM IT to complete the installation.

Once the failed flooring had been removed and the concrete subfloor scabbled, Level IT Bond was applied at 6mm before the application of DPM IT.

The exceptional adhesion characteristics of Level IT Bond make it ideal for use over a wide variety of subfloors and substrates, including old adhesive residues, in both commercial and domestic environments. Its low odour formulation mean Level IT Bond is equally suited to confined areas proving particularly popular in the education, health and hospitality sectors.

With a set time of 90 – 120 minutes, Level IT Bond can receive bonded floor coverings after 4 hours, making this an ideal floor leveller for projects with a tight deadline, such as this one.

What’s more, because Level IT Bond is available as a two component system, it takes the guesswork out of mixing, reducing site errors and guaranteeing a perfect application every time.

DPM IT is a two component, solvent free epoxy resin system for use as a surface damp proof membrane. Designed to provide protection against subfloor moisture, DPM IT has a pot life of 45 – 75 minutes, a cure time of 5 hours and boasts a 98% RH floor moisture tolerance.
