Why is it So important to Seal Your Tiles?

You’ve prepared, installed, and cleaned your tiles- now what? Sealing your tiles is crucial for their longevity, and UltraTile has the perfect solution.

To make your tiles last longer, look better- and be easier to maintain, it’s an essential step to seal them. As they are often used in high-traffic areas such as bathrooms and kitchens, they are exposed to water, stains, and heavy foot traffic. All of which can lead to the tiles absorbing moisture, making them susceptible to cracking, stains, and other forms of damage. Sealing your tiles allows you to ensure they are more resistant to the elements and have a longer lifespan.

Many types of tiles, such as natural stone and porous tiles, can become discoloured and dull over time. UltraTile’s ProClean Tile and Grout Sealer can enhance their colour and shine, improving their overall appearance for years to come.

Do you want your work to last as long as possible, and be easy for your customers to maintain? ProClean Tile and Grout Sealer allows for easy cleaning of surfaces and substrates such as:

How to use ProClean Tile & Grout Sealer

Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from any oil, grease, dust, and any other debris.

Apply a generous, even coat to the surface and edges of the stone, using a roller, sponge, lint free cloth, or brush. Ensure an even distribution by wiping over several times and remove any unabsorbed surface sealer after 15-20 minutes.

Apply a second coat, allowing a minimum of 30-45 minutes drying between coats. Repeat the process and remove excess sealer from the applied area with a dry lint free cloth.

It will take up to 24 hours before the product will offer full protection; until this has happened, keep the surface free from water and oil spills, as stains may occur before fully cured.

PLEASE NOTE: It is strongly recommended to carry out a stain test before proceeding when using coloured grouts. During application, care should be taken to protect adjacent areas and equipment from over-spray with masking materials. The surface should be divided into sections to allow accurate coverage. Do not allow puddles to form. Under normal conditions the surface will be dry will be dry to the touch within 1-2 hours and may be lightly foot trafficked after 4 hours. *Do not apply at temperatures below 5 degrees and above 25 degrees. Do not subject to any extreme temperatures until completely dry.
